Melissa Drummond, President/and CEO of Cue Marketing, was born in Manchester UK. Of Jamaican descent. This former commercial model established Cue Marketing just three years ago, which up to recently had a relatively low profile. However, all of that changed with the high profile launch of Manchester Hall on Bridge Street. CUE Marketing handled all aspects of the VIP event. CUE also has the marketing account for Manchester Hall’s neighbouring Masons Restaurant Bar.

CUE now has a team of 10 staff; more than double the staff team of just a year ago. CUE is led by Managing Director Melissa Drummond, 33, who has successfully reinvented her career. Melissa initially ran Manchester company Cliché Models as an agency for BME models, who were underrepresented in the industry at the time. As Cliché became more successful, potential clients began to ask Melissa, a marketing graduate from the University of Central Lancashire, for marketing advice. This led Melissa to change her company’s strategic direction, and from there CUE Marketing has evolved into the success it is today.

CUE has also won the account for Bridge Street office development Bradley’s Court. Other CUE clients include Cheshire West and Chester Council where CUE has been handling all aspects of the marketing of the Barons Quay retail development in Northwich since March last year.

The CUE team includes experts in marketing, design, social media, interior design and media relations. Such is the agency’s success that next month sees it moving to its purpose built H-CUE offices on trendy Chapel Street in Salford as a home for its growing team.

Melissa says: “I can’t believe how far we’ve come– in the past year especially we’ve been expanding really quickly. I think up until now the success we’ve been having has been a little bit under the radar, but with the upcoming launch of Manchester Hall all that’s set to change.

“I’d like to think my agency’s success can inspire other young women, especially from the BME community, to give it a go at business. We’ve got a great team dynamic at CUE, we’re a team that is really supportive and encouraging; and that reflects in the service we give to our clients. The move to our new offices is really a sign of confidence in what we do and how we do it.”

Melissa added that as the team is expanding so quickly she’d be keen to hear from prospective candidates who wanted to join the agency. They can email info@cuemarketing.co.uk
